Location

The Ark is nestled in Aberdares National Park, in the heart of tropical rainforest. This unique game lodge overlooks a floodlit waterhole and a salt lick which attracts a host of wildllife- elephants, leopards, bushbucks and many more. Nairobi is 170 km away.

Room Feature

Resembling and named after Noah's Ark, The Ark comprises three decks with 59 ensuite cabins and 2 non-smoking lounges. The ensuite cabins are fitted with buzzers to announce the arrival of on of the big animals at the waterhole

"On board" dining room, a bar and 2 non-smoking lounges. Numerous balconies and lounges providing superb vantage points for game viewing, ground level bunker for photographic opportunities and salient game drives

The Ark lodge is located very close to the wild animals. For this reason, children under the age of 7years are not allowed in this lodges, both for their safety and to maintain the quiet of the environment.

0NE NIGHT IN THE ARK LODGE:

Day 1: Nairobi to Aberdare National Park
Distance: 180 km (3 hrs.).

Depart Nairobi at 0830hrs. Cross the Kenyan Highlands, through pineapple and coffee plantations, to The Ark hotel in time for lunch.

After lunch enjoy an afternoon game drive and overnight game viewing from the lodge viewing decks.

Ark Lodge, set in the heart of the Aberdares National Park, is an unique tree lodge with a veranda that overlooks a waterhole and saltlick allowing undisturbed views of wildlife visiting the waterhole.

Elephant, rhino, leopard, bushbuck and occasionally an elusive bongo and giant forest hog have been sighted. The 60 guest rooms are all en-suite. All cabins have private bathrooms with shower, and are comfortably furnished with bedside lamps and carpeted floors to ward off the evening and morning chill.

Day 2: Aberdares to Nairobi
After breakfast have a morning game drive as you drive back to Nairobi to arrive just before lunch where the tour ends.

Travellers are advised to pack warm clothing for the Aberdare National Park since nights are pretty chilly.
