Day
1 When
you arrive at Jomo-kenyatta international airport Nairobi Kenya,you
will be welcomed by our company representative who will be holding a
placard reading your names for you to recognise him/her.
After
briefing you will depart,driving to Samburu
National Reserve in time for late lunch. Afternoon game viewing
at your lodge or camp.
Samburu
National Reserve is 104 km² in size and 350 kilometers from
Nairobi.
There is a wide
variety of animal and bird life seen at Samburu National Reserve including:Grevy's
Zebra,Beisa Oryx,Reticulated Giraffe,Somali Ostrich.
Other mammals frequently
seen in the park include:
African Elephant,Lion,Cheetah,Gerenuk,African Buffalo,Grant's Gazelle,Kirk's
Dik-dik,Impala,Waterbuck,African Leopard.
There are over
350 species of bird.
The Uaso Nyiro
River in the park contains large numbers of Nile crocodile.
Day
2 Morning and afternoon game viewing at this harsh but beautifully
reserve. Here you will be able to encounter wildlife like, Leopards
Hippos, Elephants, Lions, Reticulated Giraffes, Grevy Zebras, Bongos
and Crocodiles in the Engare Uaso Nyiro River. Overnight at the lodge
or camp.
Day
3 Morning drive to Mweiga for lunch at the Aberdare Country
Club. Transfer to the Aberdares National Park for an evening game viewing
from THE ARK.
Aberdare
national park is located 180 km from Nairobi.
The park contains
a wide range of landscapes - from the mountain peaks to deep, v-shaped
valleys intersected by streams, rivers, and waterfalls.
Animals easily
observed include the lion, leopard,elephants,baboon, black and white
Colobus monkey, and sykes monkey,golden cat and the bongo,forest antelope,eland,spotted
and melanistic serval cats.
The Aberdare National
Park also contains a large population of the black rhino. Visitors can
also indulge in walking, picnics, trout fishing in the rivers and camping
in the moorlands. Even the bird viewing is rewarding, with over 250
species of birds in the park.
Day
4 After breakfast at The Ark, transfer back to the Aberdares
Country Club. Drive to Lake Nakuru arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon
game viewing. Overnight at the lodge or camp.
Lake
Nakuru is one of the Rift Valley
soda lakes.
The lake's abundance
of algae attracts the vast quantity of flamingos.
Lake
Nakuru National Park (168 km²) is best known for its thousands,
sometimes millions of flamingos nesting along the shores.
Also of interest
is an around the lake fenced off as a sanctuary to protect Rothschild
giraffes and black rhinos.
Other members of
big five like lions,leopards,buffalos etc are to be found here.
Day
5 Morning drive to Maasai Mara
National Reserve arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game viewing.
Overnight at the lodge or camp.
The Masai
Mara reserve is most famous for its lions. All other members of
the "Big Five" are to be found in the Masai Mara
The wildebeest
are the dominant inhabitant of the Masai Mara, and their numbers are
estimated in the millions.
Around July of
each year these animals migrate from the Serengeti plains in search
of fresh pasture, and return to the south around October.
Day
6 Morning and afternoon game viewing at this reserve which
is famous for migration of wildebeests, the BIG FIVE, Leopard, Lion,
Elephant, Rhino and Buffalo and many other lesser species. Overnight
at the lodge or camp.
Day
7 Return to Nairobi arriving at around noon just in time
for a succulent lunch
