Lake Manyara National Park is a national park in Arusha Region, Tanzania. The majority of the land area of the park is a narrow strip running between the Gregory Rift wall to the west and Lake Manyara, an alkaline or soda-lake, to the east.

Lake Manyara is a shallow fresh-water lake in Tanzania,it is also the home of a diverse set of landscapes and wildlife.

Lake Manyara National Park is 329 km², the lake's alkaline waters cover approximately 231 km² .

While most known for baboons, the lake and its environs is also home to herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs and giraffes.

Giant fig trees and mahogany seen in the groundwater forest immediately around the park gates draw nourishment from the underground springs replenished continuously from crater highlands directly above the Manyara basin.

Lake Manyara provides opportunities for ornithologists keen on viewing and observing over 300 migratory birds.

With an entrance gate that doubles as an exit, Lake Manyara National Park can be traversed by jeep within a couple of hours driving slowly, to watch, observe and enjoy the diversity of flora and fauna.

4 Days 3 nights Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Park

This is a 4 days safari, featuring both Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara National Park. Ngorongoro crater is the largest unbroken caldera in the world and has been described as one of the great natural wonders of the world.

Lake Manyara National Park, on the other hand is two thirds water, one third dry land and it is home to a spectacular concentration of game for such a small area. Accommodation is at Ngorongoro Sopa lodge in Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara Serena Lodge.This safari is on "seat-in-bus" basis, with maximum 7 persons in a minibus with guaranteed window seat.

Departures: Daily, minimum 2 persons.

Day 1. Arusha/Ngorongoro Lunch at Impala Hotel Arusha then proceed to Ngorongoro crater rim. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge.

Day 2. Ngorongoro. Taking picnic lunch with you, descend into the crater floor for a full day tour. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Day 3. Lake Manyara. Depart after breakfast for Lake Manyara, arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight at Lake Manyara Serena Lodge.

Day 4. Arusha. Drive back to Arusha after breakfast, lunch at Impala Hotel. End of safari.
